Why B2B panels decay faster than consumer panels

People change jobs. Companies get acquired. The segments worth the most are the ones whose profile data goes stale first.

Outline. Each heading below carries one line saying what the section has to establish. Expand each into two to four paragraphs, put at least one number or worked example in the piece that nobody else could publish, then delete this note.

A consumer profile ages slowly. A business profile can be wrong six weeks after it was collected, and the segments that decay fastest are the ones that cost the most to recruit.

What actually goes stale, in order

Employer, headcount band, title, department, purchase authority. Say roughly how fast each moves.

Seniority accelerates it

Senior people change roles more often, so the expensive segment decays fastest. State the consequence for feasibility.

Acquisitions move a whole cohort overnight

Five thousand staff becomes forty thousand and nobody updates anything.

A feasibility number carries an implicit date

Argue that an audience defined on eighteen-month-old answers is a different audience.

Re-profiling: dull, unrewarded, highest return

Nothing on a dashboard rewards it. Say what cadence you would defend and why.

Asking for the decision instead of the title

What you signed off in the last twelve months beats any seniority scale, and is harder to answer aspirationally.

OpinionReady Method Desk — Panel operations and data quality

The people who run the exchange day to day — supply operations, quality review and the payout queue. These notes come out of work we had to do anyway, written down because the same questions keep arriving from buyers and from members.

Written from our own operating record: the screening calls, field estimates and payout runs described here are ones we make on this exchange, not secondhand summaries of research done elsewhere.
