Our ESOMAR 37 answers, as a web page

ESOMAR publishes thirty-seven questions buyers should ask an online sample provider, grouped into six areas. Most providers answer them in a PDF nobody can search. Ours are written here, in the open, so a buyer can read the relevant section before a call rather than after one.

The ESOMAR 37 questions worked through one at a time

The questions exist because sample is hard to inspect. A file of completed interviews looks the same whether the people behind it were recruited carefully or bought in bulk that morning. The thirty-seven questions are the industry’s attempt to make the difference visible in advance, and they are only useful if the answers are specific.

Where our answer is “we do not do this”, it says so. A provider whose thirty-seven answers are all favourable has not answered them.

Company profile

What we are, and what we are not

OpinionReady operates its own panel and also routes to supply partners where our own members cannot fill a quota. We are not a research agency: we do not write questionnaires, run analysis or deliver conclusions. Where a project needs that, we will say so and step back rather than take the work.

Who owns the relationship with members

Members join OpinionReady directly and are managed by us throughout. Where a respondent reaches a study through a supply partner, that fact is labelled on the delivery rather than blended silently into the file.

Sampling sources and recruiting

How members are recruited

Three routes, each labelled on every delivery: direct signup, member referral, and partner supply. We do not use incentivised traffic buys, and we do not recruit through offers that promise earnings figures, because people recruited on an earnings promise screen badly and churn fast.

What is recorded at signup

Source, country, timestamp and device fingerprint. Demographic and professional profiling happens afterwards, spread over weeks, so that answers are given at a considered pace rather than rushed to reach the paid part.

Whether members can join more than once

Not knowingly. Accounts sharing a device fingerprint are clustered and treated as a single participant for invitation purposes. This reduces invitations rather than closing accounts, because shared devices in a household are common and honest.

Sampling and project management

How a respondent is selected for a study

From stored profile answers, filtered against the specification, then re-screened live on the attribute the study depends on. Invitations are targeted rather than broadcast; a blast to the whole panel produces volume and destroys incidence for the next project.

Whether the same person can enter twice

No. A member enters a given study once. We also hold members out of studies in the same category for a period, because a respondent who has already seen a concept is no longer naive to it.

How quotas are managed

Interlocked by default rather than balanced per dimension, with per-cell fill reported. Fill timing is included, because a cell that reached quota only in the final hours of field deserves a second look.

Data quality and validation

What checks run, and when

Device clustering and pre-study profile edits before the invitation; profile contradiction at the screener; speeding measured against the study’s own median, straight-lining and attention checks during the questionnaire; open-end repetition and callback signature at settlement. Each is named in the rejection log when it fires.

What happens to a removed respondent

The removal is logged with the rule, the observed value and a timestamp, and the member’s quality score is adjusted. Removals are appealable, and a successful appeal restores both the payment and the score.

Whether the rejection rate is published

Yes, per project and in aggregate each quarter, on the same basis whether or not the figure flatters us. A rate that never moves is a rate nobody is measuring.

Policy and compliance

Legal basis and member rights

Members consent at signup and can withdraw at any time. Deletion is self-service: personal attributes are erased and the account is anonymised, while financial and settlement records are retained as the law requires and carry no identifying information after erasure. The route is documented in our privacy policy.

Data transferred to clients

Responses and the study-scoped respondent id. Not email addresses, not names, not device identifiers. Where a study genuinely requires re-contact, that is agreed in advance with the member rather than assumed.

Certifications

We hold none at present. We follow the ESOMAR guidance described on this page and the data-protection obligations set out in our policies, and we would rather state that plainly than display a badge that implies an audit nobody performed.

Metrics

What we report and how often

Per project: qualify rate against quote, screen-out rate per cell, median and distribution of completion times unrounded, removals by rule, and the share of the file from partner supply. Per quarter, in aggregate: active member count, rejection rate and average time from signup to first completed study.

Why some figures are not on this site yet

Because the platform is new and publishing a metric before it is measurable is how the numbers on provider websites came to mean nothing. Each figure appears here once it can be exported from our own records and reproduced on request.
